Jo-Kell Presents Food Donation and Funds to Local Charities

Chesapeake, VA (January 16, 2012) – Employees of Jo-Kell Inc., a local electrical distribution and engineering company, presented two local charities with donations collected during their annual food and fund drive.

Jo-Kell delivered nearly five thousand pounds of food to the annual “Mayflower Marathon” food drop-off sponsored by 106.9 the FOX radio station on November 18. Suzy Kelly, Jo-Kell’s CEO, had an opportunity to talk to the afternoon DJs about her company’s annual food drive. Employees collected almost two and a half tons of food for the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia.

Additionally, Kelly presented a check for $6,000 to St. Mary’s Home for Disabled Children on January 6. The company matched the monetary donations of their 58 employees from the fund drive to benefit the only pediatric long-term care residential facility of its kind in Virginia for children with severe disabilities. Present to receive the donation for St. Mary’s, was CEO, Bill Giermak.

“Our employees continue to demonstrate their generosity to others in need, even in these difficult economic times,” said Jo-Kell’s CEO, Suzy Kelly. “Employees look forward to the opportunity each year to support two of their favorite charities; St. Mary’s Home for Disabled Children and our local food bank,” Kelly added.

Jo-Kell’s annual month-long food and fund drive began on October 3rd and concluded with an all-day employee appreciation celebration on November 11th hosted by owners, Suzy and Marty Kelly, to show appreciation and recognition for all contributions made, not only for the month, but throughout the year.
