Jo-Kell Presents Food Donation and Funds to Local Charities
Chesapeake, VA (December 29, 2014) – Employees of Jo-Kell Inc., a local electrical distribution and solutions provider company servicing the military, commercial marine, and industrial marketplace, presented two local charities with donations collected during their annual food and fund drive.
Jo-Kell’s annual month-long food and fund drive began on October 1st and concluded with an all-day employee appreciation celebration on November 11th. Jo-Kell delivered just over 4,000 pounds of food to the annual “Mayflower Marathon” food drop for the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia on November 21. Suzy Kelly, Jo-Kell’s CEO, says “Although we have supported a drive for many years, this year the employee’s main focus was to provide healthier food items as well as family-sized packages.”
In addition, Jo-Kell employees in the Jacksonville, Florida facility collected over 1,700 pounds of food for their local food bank, achieving a new all time collection record by the team. The Mandarin Foodbank reported that this was one of the largest single donations they have ever received and Jo-Kell’s generosity and drive were truly appreciated.
On December 15, 2014, Suzy and Marty Kelly hosted a breakfast to show their appreciation for the Jo-Kell team who help provide to others in the community. The company matched the monetary donations of their 48 employees from the fund drive. Bill Giermak, CEO, St. Mary’s, as well as Martha Stewart, Director of Development, and Mary Helen Hilton, Director of Annual Giving, also attended, and they were presented a check for $10,000 to St. Mary’s Home for Disabled Children.
