Chesapeake, VA (November 13, 2007) – Employees of Jo-Kell Inc., a local electrical distribution and engineering Company, will present two local charities with donations collected over the past month at their facility on Monday, November 12th at noon.
Bill Giermak and Martha Stewart of St. Mary’s Home for Disabled Children, as well as Clark Mandico, COO for the Food Bank of Southeastern Virginia will be on site to accept the donations from Jo-Kell employees.
With the company matching the donations of their 45 employees from the past month, Jo-Kell will present St. Mary’s with a check for over $5,000. The Food Bank of Southeastern Virginia will also be on hand to receive over 3,000 pounds of food collected by employees. The donated food will help feed over 1,500 families in the community.
Our employees form an incredible group of generous people,” said Jo-Kell’s CEO, Suzy Kelly. “Throughout the year they participate in numerous community projects, one of their favorites being St. Mary’s Home for Disabled Children,” Kelly added. St. Mary’s is the only pediatric long-term care residential facility of its kind in Virginia for children with severe disabilities.
Jo-Kell’s annual month long food and money drive began on October 1st and will end with an all day employee appreciation celebration on November 12th hosted by owners, Suzy and Marty Kelly, to show appreciation and recognition for all contributions not only for this past month, but throughout the year.
