Jo-Kell Employees Race to End Breast Cancer
Jacksonville, FL (February 17, 2013) – Early morning Sunday, February 17, 2013, approximately 10,000 registered runners participated in the 6th Annual 26.2 with Donna The National Marathon to Finish Breast Cancer. All of the proceeds went to support a cause to help end breast cancer and to provide research and empower those living with breast cancer.
Among the thousands of runners and supporters were employees of Jo-Kell, Inc., a local electrical distribution and engineering company. Jo-Kell employees were joined by their families and supporters as they participated in the full marathon, half marathon, or the weekend festivities.
“What started out as a competition to run a 5k six months ago resulted in a team of volunteers and participants supporting the breast cancer marathon,” said Jo-Kell CEO, Suzy Kelly. “Jo-Kell employees are naturally generous people and participate in numerous community projects throughout the year. This event allowed our team to train together to achieve a physical goal while supporting a great organization,” Kelly added.
The 26.2 with Donna The National Marathon to Finish Breast Cancer is a private non-profit organization in Northeast Florida, which is the only marathon in the U.S. that is dedicated solely to raising funds to end breast cancer.
