Jo-Kell Inc. Employees Take the Plunge for Special Olympics
Chesapeake, VA (February 5, 2012) – Employees of Jo-Kell Inc., an electrical distribution and engineering company, raised nearly $1,500 dollars for Special Olympics of Virginia in the 20th Annual Polar Plunge on February 5, 2012 at the Virginia Beach oceanfront.
This year’s team, the Jo-Kell “Shockwaves,” consisted of employees and their family members. With the company’s contribution and funds raised by team members, their friends and non-plunging co-workers, Jo-Kell donated nearly $1,500 for the special cause. Funds raised for the annual event goes to the Special Olympics in their community.
“We are fortunate to have employees that are always ready to jump in and support a great cause in our community,” said Jo-Kell’s CEO, Suzy Kelly. “They are not only a generous, but a courageous group of people, plunging into the frigid waters of the Atlantic Ocean in February!”
The Special Olympics Virginia Polar Plunge began in 1993 at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. $1,119,000 was raised in this year’s plunge.
